Switching Managing Agency
As the investor you are required to give written notice that you would like to terminate a management agreement with the existing agency.
If you have a periodical management agreement you must give a minimum of 28 days written notice. However this could be negotiated depending on whether it is close to end of month or there is a vacating tenant.
If you have a fixed term agreement with an agent to exclusively manage your property you may give 28 days written notice prior to the expiry of the fixed term. Please be aware that you can be charged liquidated damages.
If you’re thinking about making the decision to change your property manager, the process may be easier than you think. Talk to us today to seek expert advice.
